I also know that shooting a child, particularly MY child is a whole different ballgame. You need to work well with kids AND be able to "click" when the money shot happens! We have done shoots where there were plenty of good shots- but they were somehow all missed! I called the folks at Children in Film, because I knew they would know the very best of the best photographers and I didn't feel like wasting my time. Rena was on the shortlist- and the only one I called. We scheduled the shoot for just a few days later. She was quick, efficient, and brilliant with a wiggly 8 year old. She is a master of the light, creating bright beautiful shots and was able to my son having fun and giving good expressions. She knows exactly what she's looking for and what she's going to get. I didn't. I was a mom that wanted to fix his hair every 2 seconds- but also wanted to leave the room 'cuz I knew he'd be better without me! Rena allowed the perfect combination of both! She was fun and he really related to her. She has a young son and knows very well how to deal with kids. Within 2 hours we were done- the next day I had my proofs and to my shock there were so many great, usable, marketable photographs. And my son looked gorgeous. Rio's manager went wild!
